French Ironstone Transferware Trivet in French Blue with Fruit

$95.00

Vintage ironstone trivets bring together two of my favorite things: Transferware patterns and decorative wood trims. This lovely example of fruit freshly picked from the tree is perfect for your French farmhouse kitchen. The original frame is intact and has a lovely patina.

As is the case with authentic early ironstone, you have all the patina and age that you expect. You’ll find subtle imperfections to the bottom edge of the tile, but nothing that detracts from the story it carries.

I don’t use my antique ironstone trivets for hot pots. A warm gratin dish is no problem. But you need to treat these pieces like old examples of art. Take care of them. Certainly, they can add beauty to your kitchen as a display.

I also use large trivets for my cheese course. Imagine setting her in the middle of a table with a basket full of fresh French bread nearby. Divine. You could create an entire table setting around this one-of-a-kind piece.
