Lessons in Living a French Life

Everyone deserves something beautiful

It’s getting close to moving time . . .

Welcome to Le Shop. Each month, I create a curated collection of vintage European finds. I personally select each treasure and prepare them to be used & enjoyed in your home. I adore everything I sell. If it doesn’t speak to me as beautiful and functional, it doesn’t find its way into my market basket. It is my pleasure to be your connection to French style and design.

There is a big shift coming at the end of this summer for my family. Our youngest heads off to university in the Netherlands and Tim and I relocate permanently in France. The move is bittersweet. While I am ready to realize the dream of living full time in France, I will miss this chapter with our son in Berlin. Oh - and the flohmarkts will be greatly missed! Germans love to recycle and I have a soft spot for simple, modern design. As I prepare for the move, I will be adding many Mid Century treasures to the shop from my own personal collection. I might even part with a couple of precious vintage French handbags. We’ll see. (Those that subscribe to my Weekly Voilàs are the first to know.)

As always, I keep beauty and utility in mind as I search for vintage fabric, copper ware, pottery pieces, and just the right objects to bring lasting joy to your home. Keep stopping back to Le Shop as one-of-a-kind finds are added throughout the month.

My life is fuller when I make things. So I create handcrafted items from vintage castaways, fabrics, and notions. I love to rework old pieces to give them a new purpose in life and create heirlooms for the future. I have been tapping into my vintage fabric stash and making bowl covers. I love that they are pretty, practical, and reusable. I usually only make a few sets of any one particular thing. I think artist pouches are up next in September. That is if I can find all my supplies right after the move. . .

As always, please ask questions about size, condition, or origin on anything in Le Shop before you purchase. Vintage and antique items have a wonderful worn, patina look and feel that make them special. I do not sell items that are clearly damaged and I note if there are imperfections or repairs. Items are sold "As Is" meaning as described and photographed. No matter the treasure, rest assured each item is packed and shipped with extreme care. Unless otherwise noted, products are shipped from Berlin, Germany within 5 days of payment via DHL. It usually takes 2-3 weeks to arrive. We accept major credit cards and Paypal.
