Early French transferware is getting harder to find. When I come across a beautiful floral pattern in my favorite French blue color, I grab it.

These plates get their beauty from a centuries-old technique where an inked design is pressed into their glazed surface. I love how the design decorates the rim and dips into the center of the plate. I love the petite size. Not as big as a dinner plate. Perfect for the first course, salad, cheese, dessert, or bring them out for a special lunch. French transferware adds an element of simple style to both a traditional and modern table setting.

You can tell authentic ironstone because the plates are not perfect. There are slight imperfections in the original glaze and wear, given that this type of dinnerware was used daily. There are no chips or cracks on any of the plates. Each is in very good vintage condition. Please note all of the photos. You’ll find the maker’s mark on the bottom of each plate.
