French Vintage Transferware Dinner Plates

French Vintage Transferware Dinner Plates
I hunt hard for early French transferware. When I find a delicate pattern in a beautiful blue/green, it goes into my basket.
These plates get their beauty from a centuries-old technique where an inked design is pressed onto its glazed surface. I prefer patterns that decorate just the rim of the plate or bowl. They add an element of simple style to both a traditional or modern table setting.
You can tell authentic ironstone because the plates are not perfect. There are slight imperfections in the original glaze and wear, given that this type of dinnerware was used daily.
This set of 3 dinner plates are in good vintage condition. If you know transferware, you know that the beauty is in the patina. There is the tinest chip on one plate. Please see the photo.
I believe these three have a lot more quiet dinners to serve.
