I have no idea who the maker of this antique thread case was. It has a monogram of “R & Co” on the top but my search brought me to a dead end. Even without its clear origins, it is a lovely sewing notion to add to your collection.

It is made of a silver metal and is complete with two tiny French spools of linen thread. One spool might have been used a little. The other has never been opened. There is a little hole for the thread to exit the case and a cutter on the side.

It is in very good vintage condition and measures:

1 ½ inches (3 cm) tall

1 /4 inches (2.5 cm) in diameter
