Set of U.S. Silverplate Souvenir Spoons

$45.00

It was a surprise to find a set of four silver plated souvenir spoons from the United States here in southwestern France. I couldn’t help myself; I had to have them. The set includes:

One from the World’s Fair in New York City in 1939

One from the Mechanics Building in Boston, a massive 19th-century convention center and exhibition hall from 1881 until it was demolished in 1959

One of John Philip Sousa made by Homer Boston, MA c. 1875-1990. Jeweler and maker of sterling and silverplated souvenir spoons

One of the U.S. Battleship Maine

I like to use souvenir spoons as demitasse spoons or for eating soft boiled eggs from an egg cup.

I think it’s time to embrace the well-crafted souvenir spoon.
