I use gravy boats for just about everything except gravy. They hold fresh madeleines for the breakfast table, a guest towel in the powder room, and art supplies in the studio. They can, of course, hold sauces, compotes, and yes . . . the occasional gravy.

This ironstone saucière is from my personal collection. She is a creamy milky white with a beautiful French Blue pattern. When you pick her up, you can feel the quality of her weight.
