I love white dishes. And if I find a versatile dish with a pretty scalloped edge, you know it is going right into my basket. This little beauty is the perfect size to serve a little something for an aperitif, cookies or chocolates for dessert, or really to hold anything in any room of your home.

Fredrich Kaestner produced porcelain in the Saxony region of Germany from 1883-1971. Based on its marking, this piece is from 1920 onward. I’m placing it in the 1930s as it was the height of this manufacturer’s production and the style fits.

It is in very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks including the rim. When you look very closely in the right light, you will see scratches on the inside bottom of the dish. Someone wasn’t given the memo not to use a sharp knife. Nonetheless, there are years of service left. It’s a unique shape that will make a beautiful addition to your white dish collection.
